1. Overview

This Refund & Cancellation Policy (the “Policy”) explains how Caellum LLC (“Caellum”, “we”, “us”) charges for its services, when a payment is or is not refundable, and how you may cancel. It applies to service engagements billed through our payment processor, Stripe, and forms part of — and should be read with — our Terms of Service.

Our own software products (for example, a subscription or a one-time purchase) may be governed by separate, product-specific terms shown at the point of sale. Where those differ from this Policy, the product terms control for that product.

2. How billing works — weekly, in advance

  • Caellum bills for services one week at a time, paid in advance.
  • A “week” is a single, prepaid seven-day work period that begins when your payment for it clears — not when you send feedback or take any other step.
  • Billing is not automatic or recurring. A new week starts only when you choose to pay for one, so you set the pace and gaps between weeks are fine.
  • A delay on your side — for example in giving feedback or in paying for a following week — does not pause, extend, or shorten a week already paid for; it only affects when the next week begins.
  • There is no long-term contract and no minimum number of weeks. Work proceeds one paid week at a time.
  • Unless stated otherwise at checkout, amounts are in U.S. dollars and exclusive of any taxes, which are added where required by law.

3. When a payment becomes non-refundable

Once work on a paid week has begun, that week’s payment is non-refundable, because the service for that week has been — or is actively being — rendered. Before work on a paid week has begun, you may cancel that week for a full refund of that week’s payment (see Section 4). Fees already earned for completed or in-progress weeks are not refundable on cancellation.

4. Cancelling

You may stop at any time. To cancel, simply do not pay for the next week — no further charges will be made, and you are under no obligation to continue. You may also tell us in writing at support@caellumlabs.com.

  • Before a paid week’s work begins. If you cancel a week you have paid for but on which we have not yet started work, we refund that week in full.
  • After a week’s work has begun. The current week is non-refundable; cancellation takes effect at the end of the week already paid for, and no further weeks are billed.
  • If we cancel. We may decline or discontinue an engagement; if we do so for a paid week on which work has not begun or cannot be completed, we refund the unworked portion of that week.

5. Failed or declined payments

Because each week is paid in advance, if a weekly payment is not made or is declined, work simply pauses — we are not obligated to work an unpaid week, and you owe nothing for weeks you do not pay for. Work resumes when the next week is paid. A payment that remains unpaid is treated as a cancellation of future weeks under Section 4.

6. Billing errors and disputed charges

If you believe a charge was made in error — for example a duplicate charge, a charge after cancellation, or an amount that does not match what was agreed — contact us within 7 days of the charge at support@caellumlabs.com (or billing@caellumlabs.com) and we will review it promptly and in good faith. Please include the charge date, the amount, and the email address used at checkout so we can locate it quickly.

7. How refunds are issued

  • Approved refunds are returned to the original payment method through Stripe. We do not issue cash or alternative-method refunds.
  • Refunds are made in the original currency, for the amount you paid. We are not responsible for exchange-rate differences or for fees charged by your card issuer or bank.
  • Once approved, refunds are typically initiated within 5–10 business days; how quickly the funds appear depends on your bank or card issuer.

8. Chargebacks

If something seems wrong, please contact us first — most issues are resolved quickly. Filing a chargeback or payment dispute without contacting us can delay resolution and may lead us to pause or end the engagement while the dispute is investigated. This does not affect any right you have to dispute a charge with your bank or card network.

9. Our products vs. our services

This Policy governs Caellum’s services — the weekly-billed work described above. Purchases of, or subscriptions to, our own products may carry their own refund and cancellation terms shown at purchase. For a recurring product subscription, cancelling stops future renewals; unless the applicable product terms or the law say otherwise, the current paid period is not refunded.

10. Your statutory rights

Nothing in this Policy limits or waives any right or remedy you may have under mandatory consumer-protection or other laws that apply to you and cannot be waived by agreement. Where such a law gives you a right that is more protective than this Policy, that law prevails to the extent of the conflict.

United States / Maryland

This Policy and our services are governed by the laws of the State of Maryland and applicable U.S. federal law, without limiting any non-waivable rights you have under the Maryland Consumer Protection Act or other applicable U.S. law.

Brazil

If you contract as a consumer under the Brazilian Consumer Protection Code (Código de Defesa do Consumidor, Law No. 8.078/1990), you have a right of withdrawal (direito de arrependimento) within seven (7) days of entering into a contract concluded away from our place of business — including online — under Article 49 of that Code, and amounts already paid are returned, monetarily adjusted. Engagements with a business that hires our services as an input to its own activity are generally governed instead by the Brazilian Civil Code; in either case, your non-waivable rights — including bringing proceedings in the courts of your domicile — are preserved.

European Union / United Kingdom

If you are a consumer in the EU/EEA or the UK, you may have a statutory right to withdraw from a distance contract within 14 days. Where you ask us to begin the services during that period, you may be charged in proportion to what was provided up to the moment you withdraw, and the right to withdraw ends once the service has been fully performed with your prior consent and acknowledgement.

Other jurisdictions

Where you are protected by the mandatory consumer law of your country of residence, those protections apply in addition to this Policy. Most Caellum engagements are business-to-business; statutory consumer rights generally apply only where you contract as a consumer rather than as a business.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The version in effect when you pay for a given week governs that week; material changes take effect for future weeks. The “Effective” and “Last updated” dates show the current version.
